About Founder, Robin Roppa and his Growing Business, Surf & Turf Gourmet

I started Surf and Turf Gourmet in 1987.  We are now called Surf and Turf Gourmet Florida. I grew up in western Pennsylvania. I worked in the steel mills,I ran Italian Market and sold many product from ice cream to cheese sticks. I used to hit at least 100 doors a day when I started ,Surf and Turf. I’m one of the last door to door salesman. I guess my love of people( many I call friends)and my desire to eat ,motivated me. I love what I do!  I asked my customers why they bought from me and several said they didn’t feel like they where being sold ,more like I was educating them on my product, I loved that. Many people say ,he is a Great talker he should be a good salesman. You have to be a great listener and hear what the customer is saying to be a great salesman.

My thoughts at the very beginning was to build a business that would sell the very best in Steaks and Seafood and we would last. So at the very beginning I decided to sell the very best and keep my customers. People ask me what is really good and I have to say Everything or it would not be a Surf and Turf Gourmet Product. My product are not cheap but they are well worth the price. We use Creekstone Farms (no hormones or added antibiotics and no fake corn. for most of our Beef. A lot of our chicken products are Bell and Evans. Life is to short to settle for the ordinary. If you join the Surf and Turf Family you will understand.
